Happy Birthday with Hippy Girl!

I have to say thanks to my recent first time commenter's. I really appreciate your thoughts. Keep it coming :)

I just wanted to quickly show you the birthday card I put together for my sister in law recently. It's made using the bohemianish (I just made that word up) and many lovely coloured Hippy Girl range by Kaisercraft.

Card stock by American Crafts "Plum".

Paper by Kaisercraft - I used both the "Hippy Girl" paper pad and 12 x 12 papers.

Coloured rub-ons and journal tags by Kaisercraft - also Hippy Girl.

Ink by Versa Color "lilac 85" and a black ink from my stash.

And a Happy Birthday stamp also from my stash. 

I find this range very versatile. The patterns differ quite considerably in some cases but the tones of the colours allow them to work side by side. 

And a little something for the inside...

I enjoyed working with this range so much that I made a few more cards for my Etsy store. They'll be coming up next. Stay tuned!

For The Newly Weds.

Hi again :)

Some lovely friends of mine recently got married. They had their ceremony on a gorgeous beach in Thailand. The bride arrived by elephant! Can you believe that?! An actual, real live elephant! I find that amazing. It even stayed for photos. I wonder if an elephant has a "good" side...

So, keeping in mind their tropical nuptials, this is the wedding card I made for them - they haven't actually seen it yet and I know they read my blog sometimes...so hey you two, have a look with your eyes closed :)

Ahhhhh....doesn't it conjure up visions of white sand, blue water and cocktails?

The rub-on is actually from a "baby boy" themed pack. The original rub-on I was going to use didn't apply very well so this was a second choice, but a better one in the end. The green works well.

Congratulations!

Welcome back everybody :)

Just a quick post before my husband hijacks the computer for a work trip....

My husband's family is Italian. Therefore we get invited to quite a few celebrations - the latest being a wedding. We won't be attending as it's interstate (and I have never actually met the couple so I feel a bit funny about going), but I have put together this little card to send on our best wishes.

I am still on my self imposed challenge to use up supplies I already have, so I tried to come up with something that tied in with the black and silver wedding invitation we received. I think I did OK. Simple and elegant.

The grey vellum and lovely embossed paper is from my scrap drawer so I am unsure as to the brands.

This embossed paper is so pretty. I used it previously on some Christening invitations.

More Sweet Nothings...

Hi again :)

As mentioned in my previous post, I have been playing around with the "Sweet Nothings" collection by Kaisercraft. My mission was to at some point come up with a "Bride To Be" type of card - or just something pretty that I can give to my friend at her High Tea.

I think I have met the challenge. Take a look...

I have done a couple of these types of designs before - usually either when I have such a pretty collection of papers that I want to use a lot of them right away, or when I have little scraps of paper to use up. In this case it was the former. I just couldn't decide what to do next and with what, so I used a whole bunch of stuff at the same time :)

 I cut a few strips from five different papers in the paper pad, attached one end of these to my base paper, then threaded through more strips in the opposite direction - kind of like a paper lattice.

I used a couple of the "Sweet Nothings" rub-ons, this large flower I placed directly onto the paper lattice. I wasn't sure if it would work out but it's quite effective.

A cute little die cut (included in the paper pad) for the inside.

And a little cupid (from the Collectables) for the front. Pretty and romantic, but not over the top.

I really should get back to finishing my friend's album. Only three pages to go! Whoo hoo! We'll see what sort of motivation goes where :)

Sweet Nothings

Hello again :)

The other day I bought some of Kaisercraft's "Sweet Nothings" collection. I needed something for a "bride to be" card to be given at a High Tea - so I wanted to use something pretty, yet kind of romantic too. The "Sweet Nothings" collection is oh so pretty with flowers galore and also kind of romantic with cherubs and little loving sentiments.

Here's what I've done so far...firstly, a generic card...

Materials used:

Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings" Paper Pad and Rub Ons

Kaisercard "Latte"

Pearls also by Kaisercraft

These butterflies are cut from one of the papers included in the paper pad.

I sometimes like to add a strip of detail inside my cards too, just for some extra prettiness :) This one is along the bottom.

Next, a "thinking of you" card...

Again using the "Sweet Nothings" Paper Pad and rub ons, also Kaisercard "Sage" and a die cut from the "Sweet Nothings" Collectables.

The possibilities are endless...and lots of fun. Hopefully there will be some time tomorrow to do a few more. Watch this space!
